Peninsula of Trees
A 3m high wall sculpture for the Kawasaki Precision Machinery Factory in Plymouth for their new entrance foyer and extension.
300cm x 100cm x 15cm
3m wall sculpture for Kawasaki factory based on famous print by Japanese print artist Hiroshige. The inspiration to choose this print as the basis for the sculpture came from the name, Kawasaki, Kawa meaning 'river' and 'saki' meaning 'cape' or 'peninsula'. The conceptual trees are made using mechanical parts, cogs and gear shafts, to create the hand-cut woodblock vision of the trees in the japanese prints.
